The Stars of Niagara Falls (Explored)

The Stars of Niagara Falls (Explored) - Photo used under Creative Commons Licensed from John A. Ryan

Flickr.com is one of the best resources on the internet for easy access to a wide variety of photographs, but many of those photographs may be protected under personal or commercial copyrights. Photographs licensed under the Creative Commons License can be used without needing to apply the Fair Use Test talked about at the beginning of the year institute day.

Flickr offers an easy way to ensure that the searches you do only return Creative Commons licensed content. Theresa McGee, 32&U Member from Monroe, has created an easy to follow handout for doing these searches. The handout is attached below, and is available in the copyright resources section of the Resources tab.

Gravity: Optional for Cats
Long a staple of office buildings everywhere, motivational posters are a fun way to inspire success or display a concept. AutoMotivator is a very quick and easy way for students or teachers to create these images.

AutoMotivator allows you to choose from a pre-selected group of photos, photos from around the web, or photos located on your computer and lets you set the motivational text. From there, AutoMotivator formats the picture and allows you to download it directly onto you computer. Print quality is governed by the original picture source, but as long as your picture is a high quality printing should be as well.
